For all those who want to conquer peaks and traverse adventurous paths, for that feeling of pride and sense of accomplishment, this is your checklist. The hurdles along the way seem trivial as compared to the glorious views on your way to the top, and that makes it totally worth it!

1. Shali Tibba Trek

With the best 360° views of the Himalayas and lesser crowds, this particular trek will make you feel that it’s all worth it. The base camp is Khatnol (roughly 45 kms from Shimla) and you get to cross a river and stroll through the dense forests as well! Don't forget to visit the Kali temple. The trail usually remains closed during peak winter months and the best time to go would be March-April and September-November.

2. Hatu Peak, Narkanda

A one day long trek that starts at Narkanda, it offers an unparalleled view of the Kanchenjunga range at 11000 feet. On your route you will encounter the Hatu Mata Temple, Dhumari and Jaubagh which is a large grassy meadow filled with deodar trees. A must experience, we'd say!

3. Churdhar Peak

Churdhar Peak can be approached from at least three routes however Chaupal in Shimla is the base for the shortest route of 7-8 kms. At the top of the peak, a giant statue of Lord Shiva awaits you which is every bit mesmerising! Trekking to a peak at 3647 meters above sea level for 7 Kms will be every bit memorable!

4. Mashobra-Thaila-Craignano Trek

This is one of the most spectacular trekking paths, starting from Shimla. You then reach the beautiful Mashobra forests, filled with pine and oak trees. Later, you reach Craignano, that has an Italian vibe to it with its vast orchards.
