Remember we once told you that Delhi Metro never runs out of surprises? Well, here’s another one to make you happy! Adding another feather to its cap, the Delhi Metro is set to throw open the Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar section of the Pink Line tomorrow, that is, the 6th of August, and we’re all doing a little happy dance RN. Here’re all the cool things about the line that’ll sweep you off your feet. Read on.
All You Need To Know | The Majlis Park to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus section of the Pink Line was thrown open earlier in March. As this new Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar section opens, Lajpat Nagar Metro Station is set to become an interchange station for passengers travelling on the Violet and Pink Lines.
And here’s the cool thing about this line. The Pink Line is gonna connect many iconic shopping destinations across the city, like INA, Sarojini Nagar, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar. Pretty cool, huh?!
The Pink Line is also gonna increase connectivity to different parts of Delhi NCR. As the entire line opens for operations, INA Metro Station is gonna become a major interchange hub for people traveling on the Yellow and Pink Lines. So people travelling from Rajouri Garden, Punjabi Bagh and Naraina can change metros for Gurgaon at INA, instead of going all the way to Rajiv Chowk.
Also, the Shiv Vihar and IP Extension section of the line will be operational by next month and may also extend to Trilokpuri. The Lajpat Nagar and Mayur Vihar Pocket I section will be launched by September, as per DMRC officials. This section will offer connectivity to many areas of South Delhi that still lack metro connections.
Kudos to Delhi Metro!
