Peek Into The History Of The Legendary Marathas At The Spectacular Nana Wada

Situated close to Shaniwar Wada and Vasant Theatre, Nana Wada is one of the oldest heritage sites in the city. You are sure to find some materialised symbols of the Peshwa dynasty blended with the colonial influence here; keep on reading to know why this place is a paradise for history buffs!

A Glimpse Of Time Immemorial | Built-in 1780 by Nana Phadnavis, who was a brilliant officer of the Peshwa Dynasty, the majestic Nana Wada is an archaic edifice that signifies what all the Maratha empire stood for. The architecture itself represents Nana Phadnavis and the strong foundations depict how this place has proudly stood the test of time.

The elaborate woodwork, the grey stone with white borders, the flourishing garden, everything about Nana Wada exhibits total perfection! In 1907, Pune’s Deccan Education Society converted a part of Wada into New English School. A new building was also built for the same purpose.

Take in the admirable architecture and instil a sense of pride within yourselves at Nana Wada.
P.S. Do check in with the concerning officials before you visit, as the place might be temporarily closed in light of the lockdown reforms.
