After Loads of Promises, DMRC Has Finally Kickstarted Trials for The Heritage Line!

Finally ending the wait, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has started its trial run for the much awaited ‘Heritage Line’. The 5.1 km-long extension of the Violet Line will have three stations - Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid and Red Fort Post ITO. This new line will be open for public use from November onwards. The highlight of this Heritage Line is the new Jama Masjid Metro Station.

What We're Tripping on | The panels at the Jama Masjid Station will be showcasing the mosque's traditional architecture - arches, jharokhas, minarets, domes and marble inlays that form this beautiful monument. The mosque and its surroundings in Shahjahanabad will be shown using an archival map. Google Maps will be used to explain its present day setting in the city.

The Station will improve connectivity from Chawri Bazaar, Matia Mahal, Darya Ganj and Dariba Kalan.

For all you foodies out there, this line connects you directly to the food line opposite Jama Masjid - yayy!
