The floor inside the mosque is made of white & black decorated marble that depicts the Muslim prayer mat.
With more than 5,000 construction workers and a million rupees was needed to build this Mosque, Shah Jahan originally named it ‘masjid E Jahan Numa.’ The meaning behind this name was ‘the Mosque overlooking the entire world.’ Today, the Jama Masjid has been repaired & preserved, and it showcases the richness of Mughal architecture.
