4 Yummies Like Big Bang Theory Burger & Cheesy Fries Starting @ Rs 100 We Had @ Xero Degrees

Snuggled in the middle circle of CP, Xero Degrees is a small yet cutesy lil café with beauteous décor, serving some of the most scrumptious fast food items with oodles of cheese! As we entered the outlet, we were bombarded with people, owing to the counter-cum-kitchen just at the entrance on the right side and a few chairs, just adjacent to the counter where its patrons stood, waiting for their turn. The exterior of the shop is modelled for sitting purposes with the capacity to accommodate approximately 15 people at a time. Despite the chaos, the staff ensured that their guests were comfortable and got their order within the stipulated time frame. When we finally got our seats, these are the items we ended up gorging on!

1. Popcorn Nut Caramel

We wouldn’t shy away from saying that we ‘drank’ popcorn for the very first time, where toned milk was whisked evenly with caramel, hazelnut and sugar syrup & a dash of popcorn flavouring, making it taste akin to caramel popcorn, whose taste remains on the palate for long. The flavour of caramel remains dominant with the taste of roasted nuts and popcorn making cameo appearances & we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our meal!

2. Big Bang Theory Slider 

We initially assumed that the dish would be inspired by the famous sitcom, which was not the case. The name was given because of its filling of a cheese slice, shredded lettuce, pickled onions and mayo, tucked between pink coloured squidgy buns, encasing a Cajun spiced vegetable patty which was a unique combination of mashed potatoes and minced veggies blended with various spices, with ginger and garlic being the dominant flavours. It enticed our taste buds to the core and left us wanting for more!

3. Cheesy Fries 

This new concept of serving fries in a jar is now being adopted by almost everyone and so is the case with Xero, where deep fried potato wedges were joggled along with peri peri spices and served in a glass jar, garnished with heaps of mayo and molten cheddar cheese, with oregano sprinkled all over them. The searing hot wedges had a lovely crisp on the outside while being squishy and mushy on the inside. The spicy flavour of the peri peri was intact and their combination with mayo and cheese together was no less than a treat for our souls. You gotta grab these for that casual evening munching sesh!

4. Pizza In A Jar

Just imagine, homemade pizza base crumbs, pizza sauce, molten mozzarella cheese, crumbled nachos, diced onions, capsicums and oregano, all in one jar with a final garnishing of mayo and sprinkled powdered oregano! Drooling yet? Well that’s exactly what we were served with when asked for this dish. Baked to perfection, the essence of a pizza was right on point, though we felt that it could’ve done without the mayo, but nevertheless, this item, being the most sought after one, should not be missed!

Securing yourself a place to sit is the only tedious task here, but all we can say is that it will all be worth it in the end. Without any compromise on the hygiene, the food is whisked up fresh and served in a quirky fashion! If cheese and cream are your thing, this is the place to be at. Happy munching!
