Take On A Buddhist Pilgrimage At Sarnath And Escape The Hustle & Bustle Of The City Life

Bookmark

Located roughly 10 kms from Varanasi, Sarnath is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in modern India. Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon here after achieving enlightenment and the equanimous city still lives in the splendors of the past!

Its many ancient pillars and stupas lie in a crumbling yet articulate structure. We would recommend hiring a local guide for sightseeing through its unique architecture.

Deer park is the perfect spot for a picnic with tons of deer frolicking about. Dhamekh Stupa and Dharmarajika Stupa are the two chief stupas which you cannot afford to miss. There is also a life size statue of Buddha which garners everyone’s attention and fills you with feelings of awe. Other attractions include a magnanimous Lion Capital in the Sarnath Archaeological Museum.

There are several places to explore in Sarnath but what makes Sarnath so special is the fact that even the air of Sarnath is infused with the Buddhist virtues of tranquility and serenity, making the entire experience a gratifying one!
