2. The Taj Lake Palace

The Lake Palace was built between 1743 and 1746 under the direction of Maharaja Jagat Singh II. To help its inhabitants pray to Surya, the palace was constructed facing east and was an actual functional palace for 260 years where India’s Rajput princes used to reside. Located at a distance of 500 kilometres from Udaipur, Gajner Palace is a jewel in the Thar Desert and is built on the edge of a lake.
