1. Dolphin’s Nose

A tourist viewpoint near Coonoor, Dolphin’s Nose is more than 1,000 feet above sea level with a spectacular view overlooking the majestic Catherine Falls, Kotagiri Hills and the Mettupalayam Plains. The tip of the peak is an enormous rock formation that resembles a dolphin’s nose - hence the name. Gigantic ravines can be spotted both to the left and right of Dolphin's Nose. Approximately 18 Kms to the east of Kotagiri, on the eastern edges of the Nilgiri Hills, Kodanad offers splendid views of the majestic Moyar river and the point where the Western & Eastern Ghats meet, the Mysore Plateau, the Bhavanisagar Dam and Thengumarahada. 6. Glenmorgan

A scenic countryside in Ooty sprawling with eucalyptus and tea plantations, Glenmorgan makes for the perf picnic spot. The place also has a huge lake constituting the fore bay for the Pykara Power House. This powerhouse is around 3 Kms down the hill of Singara and is considered to be the highest plant in Asia. Tourists can get a beautiful view of the Moyar Valley, Pykara Power Plant, certain parts of Mysore and Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. 7. Mukurthi Peak
