Bookmark

Nestled in the bustling streets of Bandra, Mount Mary Church is a Roman-Catholic church which is known for the feast of Blessed Virgin Mary. It is celebrated here on the first Sunday after the 8th of September and this feast is followed by a week-long celebration. This celebration is also known as the Bandra Fair & is attended by thousands of people!

In The Name Of Virgin Mary | The Mount Mary Church is about 100 years old and overlooks the serene Arabian Sea. If sources are to be believed, the statue of Mother Mary was found floating in the sea between 1700 and 1760. After the premises were destroyed by the Marathas in 1960, the church and the statue has been restored and placed honorably in the basilica.

During the Bandra Fair, the entire Church is adorned with flowers and lights, making this place more magical. Many stalls are stationed who sell goodies and yummies. The devotees light candles on the feet of the statue and offer their prayers.

Fellas, if you’re looking for peace and calmness amidst the chaos, drop by here and get your dose of serenity!
