Situated on the serene banks of Hooghly River, Dakshineswar Kali temple is devoted to goddess Kali and was built-in 1855 by a devotee named Rani Rashmoni. One of the most visited temples in the city, this temple shows the culture and traditions of the city of joy!

Seek Blessings | Made in the navratna style of Bengali architecture, the temple stands tall at a whopping height of 100 ft and has 9 spires that’s distributed across 2 floors. The main hall houses a magnificent idol of goddess Kali standing on the chest of Lord Shiva. Placed on a silver lotus throne with thousand petals, it’s definitely a sight to behold!

The best time to visit is during the early morning when you can witness the grand aarti. Thousands of devotees visit this temple each day and the premises are beautifully decorated during Kali Puja.
