It was built by Ram Mohun Mallick in 1855 and is also one of the oldest flower markets in the country. During the festive season, this market is literally open 24 hours.
Mallick Ghat is usually swarmed with patrons and the best time to visit this market is early in the morning- that’s when you’ll see the mandi in its full glory. BTW, you can get great deals if you buy flowers in bulk. There’s also a vegetable and fruit market in the premises itself!
