We stumbled upon a stunning church that is located in the city’s most prosperous village and teleports us straight to the bygone era. Built-in 1575, it is also one of the oldest churches in the city. Praise The Lord | St Estevam Church was built after the conversion of the Goan-Hindus to Christianity. It’s built-in Corinthian style with nave ceilings that are covered in beautiful graffiti, side altars and an elegant pulpit. The main altar is dedicated to St Stephen, whose feast is celebrated on 26th December every year with great pomp and show.

This church also has 7 side altars and one of the features the Crucified Christ. The scenic view from the premises overlooking the iron-ore mines and the picturesque St. Estevam Island will take your breath away!
