Take the Shatabdi to Kalka and then the toy train. That's by far the best and most scenic option.

Yes, Kalka-Shimla can be book online. Prefer morning 6 a.m. Toy train. It will take around 4 hours to reach Shimla.

U have to book offline i.e window ticket from delhi railway station Travel delhi to kalka by normal train then from kalka to shimla toy train
