Your Debit & Credit Cards Will Soon Double Up As Smart Cards On The Airport Express Line

Hello, Delhizens! To get your metro smart cards recharged is sometimes an issue. The long queues and the breakdown of machines are super time consuming, but we just heard that soon you’ll be able to use your credit and debit card as your Delhi Metro smart card, so read on for the deets, folks!

Travel Made Easier | DMRC is planning to execute an open loop-based system where you can use your credit and debit cards as a travel smart card. Presently, you can use your bank cards in Noida Metro Rail Corporation, Kochi Metro & Nagpur Metro, but it’s only valid for a card from a specific bank only. As opposed to this, transactions from all banks through the issued RuPay card will be accepted by DMRC.

This new system will first be executed on the high-speed Airport Express Line which will make travel easier throughout all the modes, be it DTC, DIMTS or the Rapid Metro. This system is set to be completed by the end of this year.
