The dreaded 40 degree celsius days are back and so are those gruelling power cuts! Just when you start to enjoy the chill of the AC, the inverter starts beeping and you know there’s been a power cut. Ughhh! But looks like our Delhi Government might have a (kind of) solution to these annoying power cuts. Scroll on!

Dishin’ The Deets | We Delhizens will now be compensated for unscheduled power cuts that last for more than an hour. *Woah..what?!* You heard us. Delhi Government recently approved a policy to provide compensation for unscheduled power cuts by the private distribution companies. The policy jut got a final nod from the Lieutenant Governor. 

As per this policy, private DISCOMS will either have to restore electricity within an hour or have to pay a fine of Rs 50 per hour per consumer for the first two hours and Rs 100 per consumer for the subsequent hours. Woah, now that’s good news! The compensation would be adjusted in the consumer’s monthly electricity bills. 

Awesome move, Delhi Government!
