It’ll be quite unfair to not mention the words ‘canteen’ and ‘food’ while talking about Kamala Nehru, since it has one of the best canteens in all of South Campus! Kamla Nehru doesn’t just have a regular canteen, but also a Nescafe & Coca Cola station serving food and to top it all? It stays clean 24x7. Students from Gargi are often spotted here and the in-house canteen gives tough competition to Mithaas and Diggin, which are bang opposite the college, so clearly, they’re doing something right!

Here are our favourite dishes to try out from Kamala Nehru’s canteen!

1. Fried Chicken Momos

Golden-brown and crispy from the outside and perfectly soft from the inside, these momos are wonderful! What makes them even better is the mixture of mayonnaise and the spicy chutney that they’re served with. Not too heavy on the pocket either, they’re for just 30 bucks!

2. Honey Chilli Potato

This dish is a definite fav among the students! The right combination of hot & sweet, they’re crunchy and fresh. Just for Rs 30, the quantity is quite good, considering. Garnished with sesame seeds, they’re the perfect snack for the winter season.

3. Shahi Paneer/Dal Makhni & Naan

Two buttery naans with an option between paneer/daal, both of which are equally good, makes choosing tough! We’d recommend choosing the paneer, as it’s super appetizing. This complete meal for just 50 rupees is enough to keep you going for hours!

4. Chhole Bhature

What better than chhole bhature to kick start the day? A hearty meal of two bhature with finger licking good chhole for just Rs 30. This dish is everyone’s winter favourite and if you like, you can enjoy a glass of warm Chai with it too!

5. Dosa & Sambar

Among the Idlis, Uttapams and Dosas that are served at the college canteen, the Dosa stood out for us. The spicy sambar and amazing filling inside the dosa make it a hit! It’s served with a delicious coconut chutney which makes the meal better. Guess how much it’s for? Rs 30!

So the next time you’re in South Campus make sure to stop by here and enjoy the mouth watering food!
