Have you ever wondered about the life of a prisoner at Tihar Jail? Well, in case you have, then this special experience, wherein you get to experience their life by staying at the jail for a day, might interest you like nothing else if this plan is passed. Here’s everything you need to now!

A Day In Tihar | We just heard that the Tihar authorities have designed a project, according to which you can actually stay in the Tihar Jail and experience the life of a prisoner without having to commit any crime. The project is being designed with the aim of being as real-life as possible with visitors having to wear actual prison uniforms, sleep on the floor, grind wheat, wake up early, clean the premises, cook and even participate in activities such as yoga & meditation and not be allowed to use their phone just like a usual inmate.

Did you know that Tihar Jail, which is spread across 400 acres housing around 16,000 prisoners, is the most populated jail in the country? Yep, and the superintendents have suggested that strict rules must also be imposed on the visitors so that they have to live in the same discipline and it doesn’t turn into a leisurely stay.

Plus, selected convicted inmates will be allowed to live with visitors based on their behaviour through jail time. A similar programme was introduced in Telangana where the prisoners did not share the walls with visitors, but Sangareddy, a 220 years old heritage prison was converted into a museum in 2016 and was opened for tourism for Rs 500 per day!

What do you think about this move?
