Ring Road is synonymous to traffic and is the bane of our existence. And thus, the Public Works Department in Delhi has decided to build a 13-km long elevated corridor along the Yamuna,  between Signature Bridge and Kalindi Kunj bypass in the south. Anything to free us from traffic, please!

De-Congested Roads Finally? | A 13-km long elevated corridor is being built and it’s going to be the knight in shining armour for all our traffic woes! AAP has given the go-ahead for construction of the same and hopefully this will be kickstarted soon.

In the first phase of the project, the elevated road starting from Signature Bridge, will be merged with Salimgarh Bypass, i.e., Ring Road bypass. In the second part, it will be extended to the DND Flyway and Kalindi Kunj bypass.

The corridor will run parallel to the existing Outer Ring Road near Majnu Ka Tila and the Ring Road near Sarai Kale Khan.
This elevated corridor will be connected to all the eight bridges over the Yamuna as it passes through the city. Currently, the traffic volume on the stretch is 1-1.5 lakhs and this will thankfully be diverged to some degree.

We’re pretty excited for the launch of this new corridor, because hey, anything for lesser traffic!
