There’s always a lot up our beloved Delhi Metro’s sleeves and here’s some more. IGI Airport’s Terminal 1 will now FINALLY have a metro connection, all thanks to DMRC! Read on for deets!

Metro Connectivity To IGI Terminal 1 | The domestic terminal of IGI, Terminal 1, will be linked via metro, and all the credit goes to the newbie Magenta Line, connecting Janakpuri West to Kalkaji Mandir.

Thanks to this metro route, the distance between different parts of Delhi to the airport is gonna get cut down considerably. So if you’re driving to the airport from Nehru Place in South Delhi, it’ll take you ONLY 20 mins to reach the airport!

And for all those of you coming from Punjabi Bagh in West Delhi, in 30 minutes tops you can zip over to the airport. The distance between Botanical Garden to the airport will also come down to 35 minutes! Isn’t that just great?

Although Terminal 3 of the IGI Airport has a metro connection via the Airport Line, it is the first time that Terminal 1 of the airport is also getting metro connectivity. And for us travellers, it’s quite a relief! Phew!

So the next time you’re travelling anywhere within India, you won’t have to bother with a taxi or a car ride the airport. Just hop in and take the metro, bag and baggage!
