This Is A Representative Image

The charming city of Meerut is close to Delhi, but the travel time is normally two hours. However, this will now take 50 minutes to cover thanks to the launch of a new highway, and here's what you need to hear about it!

Ab Meerut Door Nahi! | Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) is now open for the public and with the highway being operational, the time taken to travel between the two cities has been reduced to just 50 mins from 2 hours. Phase 1 of the highway from Akshardham to UP Gate (14-km) and Phase 3 from Dasna to Hapur (22-km) has already been operational since its inauguration in 2018. And now the 19-km Phase 2 of the expressway linking UP Gate & Dasna and the 32-km-long Phase 4 linking Dasna and Meerut is functional.

The speed limit on Phase 1 in Delhi is 70 kmph, while it is 100 kmph in the other three phases. Furthermore, tolling can be done by linking the automatic number plate reader (ANPR) to the FASTag system. The Delhi-Meerut Expressway will provide 14-lane connectivity under Phase 1 & 2 and 6 lanes from Dasna and it has been lit up by 5,000 streetlights!

Now, isn’t this a brilliant piece of news?!
