Whenever someone mentions Indian Railways, the reaction isn’t always so pleasant, right? But there’s one railway station in the city that could almost pass for a mall when it comes to looks. We’re not talking about any metro station, but about the Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station! And from what we can see, it does look impressive, doesn’t it?

A Cleaner Railway Station | Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station had been inaugurated with the aim to cater to the East-bound trains. The trains coming from Eastern India would often have to cross the river Yamuna as the all the other stations like Old Delhi Railway Station, New Delhi Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, fell on the other side. Hence the decision was made to construct a new terminal which could cater to a larger number of passengers. 

The massive station is spread across 100 acres and purveys to several trains coming in and going out. This is said to be one of the cleanest railway stations in the country as per a survey conducted by an independent organisation. With necessity such as that of railways, it’s a breath of fresh air for visitors having to get off on a clean station.

We hope more stations follow these footsteps and move towards a cleaner country.
