Hello, fellow Delhizens! Y’all know that the past few days have been unusually warmer for the month of February. And from what we just heard, there’s a reason behind this and we’re here to tell you all about this.
Soaring Temperatures, A New Record | On Wednesday, the 24th of February, saadi Dilli witnessed the warmest day in 15 years when the mercury nearly touched 34 degrees Celsius which is 7 degrees above the normal temperature for this time. The base temperature recorded was 32.5, but it later reached a maximum of 33.9 degrees Celsius.
As y’all know for the past few months, Delhi has been on the receiving end of extreme temperatures and the Indian Meteorological Department has given a reason behind this. The sudden increase in the mercury has been happening due to the lack of Western disturbances, as these regulate the temperatures and ensure that it doesn’t reach extreme numbers.
With the days becoming gradually warmer, we’re already wondering what’s going to happen this summer!
