Hello, Delhiites! The issue of safety of women has been plaguing the city for the longest time and to change the situation for the better and ensure their security, this is what is being planned.

What You Need To Know | So, we just heard that the Delhi Cabinet Minister is going to set up Mohalla Marshals as well as an SC/ST Women Welfare Cell to ensure women’s safety in the city and that sounds like a move in the right direction! He met the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) to discuss the work that’s been done by her organisation and to formulate a plan. This is being done so that the ladies of Delhi feel secure, which has not been the case for quite some time now.

These Mohalla Marshals will be appointed to patrol the most sensitive and vulnerable areas of town with the responsibility of providing security at the ground level. This was introduced on a pilot basis in Burari which saw a lot of complaints come in and after the positive results, they want the model to be implemented in 70 Vidhan Sabhas. The safety of women was a part of the government’s 10 point agenda and looks like they’re working towards achieving the same.
