Pollution has become the most alarming concern for us Delhizens and it’s high time that we find a solution to it! And it looks like the Delhi Government has plans to tackle this nagging problem. Read on as we tell you more about this!

The Herculean Task Of Fighting Pollution | The Delhi Government is planning to deploy ‘environment marshals’ in 272 municipal wards who will help in curbing the different sources of pollution in the city. With Diwali just around the corner and winter approaching fast, practices such as the burning of plastic and waste materials are likely to see an increase and we need strict measures to curb these activities.

These environment marshals, who will mostly be Home Guard jawans, will be responsible for restraining people from burning garbage and other waste materials that can possibly cause harm to the environment. They will also be given special training that’ll help them carry out their duties efficiently.

The environment marshals will also use mechanised sweepers and sprinkle water in their respective zones in order to bring down dust pollution.

We think that’s a great initiative by the Delhi Government!
