We Just Heard That Over 1,000 Dark Spots In The City Might Be Lit Up In The Coming Few Days
This Is A Representative Image
Each one of us has probably passed that particular stretch in the city which is often pitch dark, well, this might just change in the coming days as the Delhi Government plans to do something about it!
Lighting It Up? | The Delhi Government will most probably start installing new LED lights at several dark spots in the city to make it safer for women. This work will be done under the Mukhyamantri Street Light Scheme, wherein most of the dark spots of Delhi will be illuminated. According to the survey conducted by Saftipin, which scoured through the city looking for all the dark spots, there are 1,000 - 1,500 sites were identified in the city.
These dark spots include residential areas, commercial complexes, markets, parks and internal roads in its first phase. The plan is to fix these spots immediately and after that, the entire city will be taken up. These lights will be automatically controlled through cloud-based servers whereby a sensor will turn off the lights at dawn and turn it on when it’s dark.
And if there’s any fault, the sensor will send a notification to the authorities and this way no sensor will remain out of order for more than 48 hours. These lights will be installed at several houses and the price of these lights will be adjusted in the electricity bill. Did you know that the number of street lights will go up from 7 lakhs to 9.1 lakhs under this scheme?
Yep, so what do you think about this move?
