A place that literally means ‘Non-Violence Spot’, the main attraction of this spot is the huge and magnificent statue of Lord Mahavira in Padmasana (Lotus position) which is about 14 ft tall and situated at the top of a small hill. Here, you’d only want to stretch your legs, meditate or just admire the shades of nature.

8. Shanti Vana

One of the most revered personalities of India who also played an instrumental role in framing the future of the world, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was cremated at the Shanti Vana. It is known as the Forest of Peace and its lush greenery, sprawling gardens, and numerous trees & saplings keep the atmosphere cool and serene, making it the perfect haunt to unwind.

9. Garden Of Five Senses

Take a break in the city itself, at a place which is a treat for all your five senses! This garden is one of the largest in Delhi, spread over 20 acres of Aravalli outcrops which have been beautifully & painstakingly landscaped. It showcases meandering walkways with lotus pools & miniature ponds tucked away in cosy corners, with several seating areas in the garden as well. All this makes for a pleasurable experience with ample shade & wonderful views!

10. Deer Park

This place boasts a wonderful array of plants & trees arranged in various geometric patterns along meandering walkways with lotus pools & miniature ponds dotting its grounds. The garden has many seating spots, which provide for leisurely conversations and a relaxing experience. The garden also has a wonderful food court offering a variety of cuisines from different parts of India that you can happily munch on!

11. Parthasarathy Rocks

One of the best-kept secrets of JNU, this place is a must-visit and showcases picturesque views of the city. It's one of the best spots to just reflect and absorb the beautiful surroundings. There's a huge catch though - to enter this place you need to show your student ID or accompany a student. If you manage to get around to this place, it's well worth it!

12. Sanjay Van

Sanjay Van, a sprawling and lush forest of about 10 sq. kms in South Delhi adjoining JNU is one of the most thickly wooded areas of the city, apart from being extremely peaceful and liberally dotted with heritage. It's one of the few havens for bird watchers & nature enthusiasts in the city and should be visited if you are looking for some me-time!`

13. Swarna Jayanti Park

Amongst one of the biggest parks in Delhi, this place covers 250 acres of land studded with multiple lakes, gardens and playgrounds. All these spots are seamlessly connected through a network of jogging tracks spread all over the area. The park is a model example of excellent landscape design and is truly one of the most peaceful spots to unwind in the busy city!

14. Sunder Nursery

Designed by landscape architect Lt. M Shaheer, this nursery-turned-garden has a 550 metres ornamental central vista starting from the entrance zone of Humayun’s Tomb. Apart from the vast sprawling lush greenery here, there is a pond, numerous fountains and a tomb by the name of Sunder Mahal. Exploring this nursery is a great way to spend one’s winter afternoon! Did you know that it’s spread over 90 acres and the Sunder Nursery houses 300 unique tree species?

15. Buddha Jayanti Park

Located near the Delhi Ridge area, this one is a sprawling garden in the heart of Delhi. There's even a small pond where you can sit and read a book. The lush green garden, large trees and pretty flowers make this one an excellent place to unwind and just spend some quality time with yourself.

18. Jahanpanah Forest

This is a vast sprawl of green spread over about 800 acres of land. Not only is this part the green lung of South Delhi, but it is also the most popular fitness destination for its residents. A long walking-cum-jogging track has been laid throughout the forest. As you go deeper into the forest, the crowd around you thins out and you are awestruck by the beauty of the flora & fauna that surrounds you. There are many rare species of trees and plants dotted around.
