Vat 69 Whisky & Smirnoff Vodka Have Been Banned In The Capital For 2 Years, Guys!
Delhizens, we have some bad news in store for you this time and if you’re a booze lover, then it might affect you. Read on as we tell you what’s happened!
What’s Going On? | We won’t be able to purchase Vat 69 whisky and Smirnoff anymore in Delhi, at least for the next two years, as the Delhi Government Financial Commissioner has blacklisted the manufacturer United Spirits Limited (USL) for having reportedly used duplicate barcodes. Oh damn!
The Financial Commissioner has said that USL has violated the provisions of the Delhi Excise Act, 2009 and has used unauthorised and loose barcodes that could be easily misused. Hmm, this seems rather unacceptable! So as a result, these two brands have been banned in the capital for two years.
While we agree with the Delhi Government’s stand on the misuse of unauthorised barcodes, we still feel very sad about not getting two of our fave brands in liquor shops anymore!
