Upgraded Himmat Plus Safety App Now Offers Taxi & Auto Rickshaw Driver Authentication

Delhi Police recently launched an upgraded version of their women’s safety app called Himmat Plus to plug loopholes in the previous version, and offers a wide range of new features. The app comes both in Hindi and English languages and has a special QR code scanning feature for taxis, auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws to verify their deets! 

All About The App | This app can be used by women commuters coming out of the Delhi Airport and 5 metro stations in the city! The intent behind the app is to keep prevent crime against women in Delhi, and it also aims to empower women and making them feel confident and safe while travelling alone in the city. 

The new upgraded app has gone from being an emergency safety app to a daily utility app now! The Facebook and Twitter page of the Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi Police have been linked to the same in order to make sure that you get live updates about traffic in the city too! 

The credentials of 2,000 taxi drivers at the airport and around 1,000 drivers of auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws were collected and fed into the server of the Himmat Plus app. Each driver has been provided with a 'QR card' to be placed in their vehicle which can then be scanned by the commuter to establish the authenticity of the drivers, making things safer for the women in the city!
