Upcoming Chirag Dilli MS To Become One Of The Most Imp. Interchange Hubs For The Magenta Line
All Delhi metro commuters in South Delhi, here’s good news for y’all - Chirag Dilli will soon become an important interchange hub for the proposed Lajpat Nagar to Saket G- Block corridor of Delhi Metro’s Phase V. The proposed corridor will then link Magenta Line with the upcoming Pink Line (Majlis Park - Shiv Vihar).
Here’s What’s Happening | An underground station, 21 meters below ground level will cater to areas like Panchsheel Enclave, Masjid Moth, Sheikh Sarai, Chirag Dilli village and is expected to open next month *YAY*!
This station will lie just 500 meters away from the upcoming Greater Kailash Metro Station whereas other Delhi metro stations are usually located about a kilometer apart from each other on average, eliminating last-mile connectivity issues.
A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official stated the reason behind this is that there’s a huge catchment area in Chirag Dilli’s vicinity, so a station would then provide adequate connectivity to the many residential areas and easy access to Jahanpanah city forest nearby as well.
This station will have total of five entry and exit points, with two entry and exit points on the Chirag Dilli side, one each on Panchsheel Enclave, Masjid Moth and Jahanpanah city forest side.
With such convenient new additions to the metro network, travelling around the city will become WAY less hectic. Good going DMRC!
