Upcoming Aqua Line Will Have Express Trains That'll Skip Certain Stations To Slash Travel Time

Hey fellow Delhiites! We’re back with some more interesting metro news that’ll obviously affect your daily lives (in a positive way, don’t worry). So read on as we share some good news with all you guys!

Here’s What’s Up | Are you as excitedly waiting for the Aqua Line as we are? Then you’ll really like what we’re about to tell you! So once this line is operational by the end of the year, you’ll see these metro trains working as fast local trains, something that you might have come across in Kolkata and Mumbai. So the idea is to bring down the waiting time for trains and make the journey quicker for all office-going peeps.

These ‘express’ trains running during peak hours will skip select metro stations. The regular metro trains that stop at all metro stations will also be functional. However, it is yet to be decided which metro stations are to be skipped by these express trains. The frequency of the trains will be between 8 to 10 minutes.

The NMRC is also gonna conduct a survey amongst regular metro travellers to find out how often they will use the Aqua Line and their average travel time. They will also be asked to fill questionnaires about their travel details.

Well, we are really impressed by this move by the NMRC and hope that these express trains make travelling quicker and easier for all of us!
