DelhiTrial Runs Have Begun On The Grey Line Of The Delhi Metro & Will Likely Open By Sept.
Seems like the much-awaited metro corridor in one of the most congested areas of the city is gonna be opening soon. We can’t wait to ride the newest addition on the ever-growing Metro map as the trials have begun for this line!
The Grey Line Is Opening Soon | The 4,295 km long Dwarka-Najafgarh corridor will be completed by September 2019 and according to the officials, trial runs have begun on this stretch which will be the first metro corridor to take the vast Delhi metro network to the rural areas of Najafgarh. To make sure that there’s no physical blockage during the movement, the interaction of trains with physical infringements will be checked.
The stations covered under the Grey Line are Dwarka, Nangli and Najafgarh, out of which, Dwarka and Nangli stations are elevated while Najafgarh is an underground one. The existing Dwarka Metro Station will be connected to the new one through an 80-metre passage and there’s gonna be an additional parking area outside the station.
The Najafgarh station is the first train depot to have standard and broad gauges. The line will be further extended by 1.18 kms till Dhansa Stand station which will be completed by December 2020 and it will be a 4-level underground structure where the platform will be at a depth of 21 metres, followed by a concourse and then an entire floor for parking. This will be a first for the Delhi Metro.
Kudos to DMRC for their good work!
