So, while we’ve been fretting over how we’ll have to shell out truckloads of money to pay those bomb challans, seems like the traffic police are in an even bigger jam than we are as they’ll have to pay much more! Read on to know what would be the fine for the law enforcing authority.

A Double Take! | So, under the new law, the fines that have been prescribed for the law enforcers for violating the traffic rules will be double of what’s been set for the general public. As per this order, the traffic police, if found breaking any of the rules, will have to pay double the challan amount. For instance, if traffic police personnel is found driving without a licence the fine will not be Rs 5,000 but Rs 10,000 (woah)!

This provision has been stated under section 210-B of the new Motor Vehicles Act. The reason for this is that they want to make the traffic police more accountable and there are talks going on about extending the same to every road authority as well!

So, what do you think about this development? Sounds fair enough, doesn’t it?
