This Y-Shaped Flyover To Solve Traffic Woes Of People Shuttling B/W Terminals @ The IGI Airport
This Is A Representative Image
Delhi traffic is already dreadful. With the number of vehicles on the road coupled with the pollution and heat, it becomes unbearable at times. But if you’re a transit passenger and find yourself routinely caught in the horrible traffic snarls on the route connecting IGI Airport’s T1 and T3, we feel sorry for you. But seems like better days are ahead owing to this development folks!
Y-Shaped Flyover To Cut Traffic | Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) has proposed to build a Y-shaped flyover to relieve the pain of transit flyers shuttling between the various terminals and we couldn’t be happier. This mini flyover will give two-way access between roads going to T3 and Dwarka, and the third leaf of the flyover is to be a one-way route for people driving from T1 and going towards T3.
Along with this, DIAL has also proposed a long underpass below the Gurgaon Expressway & Radisson Flyover, connecting the main route leading to T3 & the Vasant Kunj Marg. This comes as a huge relief as you’ll be able to avoid the traffic below the flyover and the congested lanes in the Mahipalpur section - yay!
ALSO, we might be getting our very own air train aimed at providing a smooth ride for transit passengers from one airport terminal to another. The 5.1 km long route for the air train has been finalised and it’s supposed to have 4 stations - T1, Aerocity, cargo terminal and a common terminal for T1 & T2/4.
If the Delhi Government implements this, it’s bound to reduce our travel time and traffic woes by half, if not more (YAYY).
