Underprivileged people have been one of the worst affected sections of the society due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions. But there are a few people in our society who’ve taken it upon themselves to help these distressed people out and today we’re here to tell you about one such good samaritan. Here’s the story of a rasoi that’s dishing out thalis for JUST Re 1!
To Have Courage And Be Kind | Shyam Rasoi in Nangloi is a kitchen that’s helping a large a number of people by feeding them. Parvin Kumar Goyal who’s been running this kitchen for the past 2 months feeds 1,000 to 1,100 people and even sends parcels to nearby areas such as Inderlok and Sai Mandir. Being run on donations, this place has been functioning so far with the help of other people who may bring in rations or donate money via digital modes. At the time of writing this article, the rasoi has stocks that will help them run for the next 7 days.
People queue up outside between 11 AM - 1 PM for thali meal. The menu changes every day and may include dishes like pulao, chole, halwa and soya bean on some days. As of now, he has 6-7 helpers whom he pays Rs 300 - Rs 400 depending on sales, otherwise, locals & college students also come to offer help!
