This Is A Representative Image
Y’all know that the Delhi Metro has an upcoming route by the name of Grey Line, right? Well, we just heard that there will be multi-level parking at an underground station on this stretch and here’s all you need to know!
1st Multilevel Parking @ An Underground Station | The Dhansa Bus Stand Station on the upcoming Delhi Metro’s Grey Line will feature multi-level parking at its underground station. This is actually a first for the Delhi Metro as the entire underground floor will be dedicated to the parking of the vehicles! This metro station will be designed as a 4-level structure wherein the platform will be at the bottom. It’ll be located at a depth of an impressive 21 meters, followed by the concourse and a parking area! This 64,000 square meters big parking lot would be able to accommodate over 130 cars and will be 200 metres in length and 32 metres in width. The two entry and exit facilities on either side on the lot will have ramps which will connect them to the surface above and the platform below!
Currently, Hindon River Metro Station on the Red Line corridor between Dilshad Garden – Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda is an elevated station with basement parking and Airport Express Line also has a multi-level parking lot above it. Around 100 metro stations have parking lot facilities in Delhi and the NCR - nice!
A 5-km long link will connect Dhansa Bus Stand in Najafgarh (Grey Line) to Dwarka MS (Blue Line), which will also serve as an interchange station! The best bit, work on the Grey Line might be finished by September this year and the stretch will be thrown open to the public by the end of the year.
We’re so looking forward to more such cool firsts from the Delhi Metro!
