This Lake Near Mayur Vihar Will Soon Be Revamped Into An Amphitheatre, Food Court & More!

There are a lot of areas in our city that need a facelift for them to be restored to their former glory. And one such development is happening at Sanjay Lake and here’s all you need to know about it!

Sanjay Lake To Get A New Look! | Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken it upon themselves to transform the Sanjay Lake near Mayur Vihar and we’re pumped because from what we’ve heard they have in mind for this place, it’s gonna be friggin’ fantastic. The plan is to revamp it into one of the biggest recreational hubs in Delhi (woah)! DDA had started the renovation works on this lake a few months ago as part of Phase I and is almost on the verge of completion under which the amphitheatre and walking as well as the cycling track are now ready while the greening in one portion is almost done.

Since this place has always been a recreational area, the aim is to beautify the surrounding spots too! The facilities being planned here include an observation deck, pedestrian pathways, nature trails, courts, lake view plazas, food court, bicycle tracks, meditation garden, an open gym and of course, an amphitheatre - awesome!

Plus the agency also plans to create a craft hut, artist court and sculpture court to encourage art in public areas. A lot of new facilities will come up in a year’s time but the completion of the project will take longer. This is because the Phase II of the project will cover the entire 170 acres of the lake area!

Let’s hope this project finishes ASAP because we can’t wait to drop for a fam jam soon!
