This is Not a Drill! Delhi Metro to Get Driverless Trains
Yes it’s true guys! Delhi Metro is introducing their first set of driverless trains! DMRC has been secretly testing these made-in-Korea trains in the northern part of the city at Mukundpur Depot.
How will this all go down you ask? Rather than train operators sitting in and driving, the operations control centres of the Delhi Metro will directly regulate their movement.
Let’s throw in a few extras shall we - these trains will also be more colourful, spacious (up to 380 per coach), will have non-skid floors, live TV feed inside metro cars and will have platform screen doors too! These 6 coach trains are currently under testing and will soon be deployed on the Majlis Park Shiv-Vihar and Janakpuri (West) - Botanical Garden lines.
Delhi’s getting all super-tech and we couldn’t be prouder! *fingers crossed*. We can’t wait to get seated on one of these mean machines!
