There’s no denying the fact that Hindi literature’s charm is slowly ebbing away from our fast-paced city life culture, as for an increasing number of readers, books only mean ones written in English. But there’s some ray of hope for all loyalists to Hindi literature as we recently stumbled upon a bookshop that offers some really rare classics!
Laxmi Nagar’s Hidden Gem | One of few bookstores in the city stocking old-time Hindi classics, Bihar News Agency is hidden away in a back lane in Laxmi Nagar. Seeing its own share of ups and downs since 1979 (wow!), the owner of the store is Narender Kumar Singh, who hails from Bihar, and who was prepping for his IAS exams at the time he started it.
You’ll get an eye-popping variety of Hindi books like Rahul Sankrityayan, Piyush Sharma and Udai Narayan, amongst many others. Another unique thing about the store is their awesome collection of books relating to Hinduism like the various volumes of the Puranas.
This place is a haven for all connoisseurs of Hindi lit who regularly hop into the store for their favourites. Come on by if you call yourself a Hindi classics lover!
