This Farmstay Tucked In A Small Maharashtrian Village Has Dreamy Cottages Made Of Coconut Trunks

If you’re a nature lover, then we can understand your disappointment with Delhi. The city might have many green patches, but for us nature lovers, heaven resides in dense forests and plantations. And for a much-needed escape to someplace green, we’ve found you a really unique farm stay in the very heart of Maharashtra.

Far From The Dense Smog | Situated in a little Maharashtrian village called Parule, Maachli is a farm stay set amidst dense plantations and located in close proximity to a forest. So for all us Delhizens who’re fed up with the pollution and endless honking of cars, here’s a place where you can let go of all your anxieties!

The draw of this farmstay is its cottages, which are conceptualised as a ‘maachli’ which is basically a term used for huts made by farmers to protect their crops. With sloping roofs and a vernacular touch to them, these cottages give us a sneak peak into peasant life with their simplicity. Most of the elements used to build the cottages are natural, including the lamps and bed frames which are made of coconut trunks!

The owner of the place, Mr. Pravin Samant, was a chemist by profession, and he owns a Mango, Coconut, Beetle nuts and spice plantation. He ensured that not one tree was cut during the construction of these cottages and that’s amazing! His wife is known for whipping up mouth-watering dishes from Saraswat cuisine. Served in earthen pots, the food is then eaten out of a leaf plate.

While you’re here, making the most of your stay in the lap of nature, do ensure that you go for a plantation tour, a sunset trek to the nearby beaches, pottery experiences and a serene backwater boat ride.

There couldn’t possibly be a better way to get some much-needed time away from all the city madness, so get your stay booked now!
