Our city is filled with endless stories and each one is more inspirational than the previous one. One such tale that caught our attention is that of Laxman Rao, a humble tea seller who has won accolades from the PM and the President. Let’s take a look into his life!

Chai Pe Charcha For Reals | For three decades Laxman Rao has been selling tea outside Hindi Bhawan but you might be wondering what’s special about him. He came to Delhi with a dream to become a writer and he did achieve it, all the while selling tea. He has written 24 books that are inspired by his daily interactions with his customers. His publications are not only available on his stall but also on Amazon and Flipkart!

If you wish to meet him and have a sip of pipin’ hot chai, then you can find him stationed outside Hindi Bhawan, near ITO. As if all this wasn’t enough to floor us, Laxman Rao is a motivational speaker and a writing coach as well and regularly holds workshops where he guides aspiring writers and talks about his struggles. When he came to Delhi in 1975, he worked many odd jobs to earn a living and was soon ready with his manuscripts, but alas, was instantly rejected by various publishing houses.

Although, the rejection did not deter his spirit for he kept on writing and self-published 16 of his novels - wow! Some of his works include Renu, Ramdas and Betiyan, just to name a choice few. His hard work and stirring story did not go unnoticed as he’s received accolades from the former PM and President.
