This Is A Representative Image
We know how harmful plastic waste can be and everyone is doing their bit to curb the usage of single-use plastics. So when we heard about this road being made from the plastic waste we thought what a great initiative it is and wanted to share the news with you guys as well.
From Plastic To Fantastic | We just heard that the Noida Authority has initiated the building of a 2.5 Km stretch on Delhi-Noida link between Film City Sector 16A and Sector 14A. This road will be constructed from the plastic waste that has been collected from several cities. Plus, they're also carrying out a campaign through which they plan to make Noida a plastic-free city and have already banned single-use plastics.
The Noida Authority recently started a campaign called Plastic Free Noida that will run till Sunday, the 27th of October. People are being encouraged to join hands with the authorities in the collection of plastic waste and handing it over to them. Moreover, if someone is found using single-use plastics, they’ll be punished and we’re applauding this initiative.
The fine for this is Rs 1,000 or even upto Rs 10,000 under the first offence which can then be raised to Rs 5,000 or even Rs 25,000 for the subsequent one. They could even be imprisoned for a month if caught during the first time while this could be increased to 6 months.
What do you think about this move?
