DelhiThis 2-Km. Road In East Delhi Is Set To Undergo Major Redevelopment To Ease Traffic Jams
Delhi’s Public Works Department is constantly on the lookout for ways to make travel smoother within the city and here’s another cool initiative they’ve got up their sleeves - scroll on for more!
Major Revamping On The Cards In East Delhi | The 2.1-km stretch between Mother Dairy to Panch Mahal Awas in East Delhi is infamous for lack of pedestrian crossings, footpaths, road markings and signals and unending traffic jams are caused because of this. So to ease the woes of the people, PWD has decided to expand the footpaths and make separate lanes for buses, cyclists and pedestrians with a massive Rs 20 crore plan.
The area has seen many unfortunate accidents because of the lack of proper facilities for motorised vehicles, non-motorised vehicles and pedestrians so this major revamping shall hopefully ensure safer travel. Keeping the aesthetics in mind, the road will start with a soft area with plantations to provide greenery and beautification. The major aim of this plan is to encourage the use of non-motorised vehicles with designated paths for cyclists.
This redevelopment will come as a major relief to all the frequenters of this stretch and we’re so glad the authorities are implementing new ways to make our lives easier!
