While the Walled City is known for its umpteen stalls peddling juicy kebabs and butter chicken (read Aslam Chicken), you’d be surprised to know that the place is also a storehouse of some really good bakeries, and here’s one that whips up the yummiest rusks!

Crispy, Crunchy Rusks FTW | Hiding amidst the crowd and hustle-bustle of Old Delhi lies a 100+ years old bakery called Diamond Bakery, which has been stealing everyone’s hearts with their (from all accounts) really yummy rusks. Situated in the main avenue connecting Jama Masjid to Tiraha Behram Khan, this place is touted to have been established the year World War 1 started. Woah, impressive!

Here’s a fun fact - this place doesn’t use ovens to make rusks! Instead, they use the traditional method of a wood-fired bhatti to ensure the crispiness that people love in rusks. Dip ‘em in your early morning chai, and you’d be amazed at how smoothly the rusk melts in your mouth. Ah, yummy!

The place is open from 5 in the morning, guys, so if you’d like a fresh rusk with your cuppa, here’s where you need to be. Come check this place out!
