New flyovers, better metro facilities and what not! The Delhi Government has been on a rebuilding-spree, in a manner of speaking, and now DDA has decided to surprise us with yet another utility element!

Walk The Talk | Apparently, DDA has approved the draft for enhancing and improving pedestrian-friendly infrastructure in 22 areas, namely ITO, DU (North & South Campuses), ISBT, INA, Hauz Khas-IIT, Nehru Place, Old Delhi & New Delhi Railway Stations and more. This would actually help curb the need for driving cars for shorter distances which would be a great boon to Mother Nature.

A continuous pedestrian network like barrier-free footpaths and more would be the key to this arrangement which will ultimately encourage people to walk. Existing public spaces such as parks, open spaces and more will be also be integrated according to the proposed design. News is, more localities of the city will be improvised under the same plan.

This recent development is sure to raise environmental awareness and the benefits of walking, don’t you think?
