These 3 Spots In Delhi Will Get Foot Over Bridges That’ll Help Reduce Accidents
Crossing roads in Delhi can be quite a nightmare for pedestrians as sometimes it may lead to accidents or other road mishaps. To reduce this, the Public Works Department (PWD) is constructing foot over bridges (FOB) at these three locations in Delhi!
Safety First | The PWD is planning to construct FOB at one of the busiest roads in Delhi where accidents are common occurrences. These three FOBs will be built at National Highway (NH-10), Monastery Market near Kashmere Gate and Shiv Parvati Mandir on the Mehrauli-Badarpur road. Moreover, these locations are not just infamous for accidents but also for long traffic snarls!
The financial approval for this has already been received by the department and the engineers are currently working on the designs. Once, this is done and the work begins, it will take less than a year to finish it off! Did you know that approx. 3,000 people cross this stretch in a day? Yep, and it’s pretty dangerous to cross these stretches without any supervision during the peak hours!
There are 50 subways and 73-foot over bridges in the city at the moment and they’ve planned to construct 17 more such bridges which will feature CCTV cameras for better security. Sounds like a good move to us. What do you guys think?
