Delhi’s blue sky was heavily blanketed by a pungent smog since Diwali, with some recent relief due to the high wind speed. There are some hot spots in the Capital that remain highly polluted despite preventive measures and one of the reasons behind this is industrial and garbage dump. Read about the most polluted spots in Delhi here!

Enveloped In Thick, Grey Smog | 13 localities in Delhi have the AQI levels in the Deep Red category. These hotspots are Rohini, Punjabi Bagh, Dwarka, Anand Vihar, Okhla Phase 2, Wazirpur, Vivek Vihar, Jahangirpuri, Mayapuri, Narela, Mundka, Bawana and RK Puram. Release from industries, construction activities, waste burning, are some of the reasons why the AQI of these areas are around or more than 500.

The Delhi Government has already initiated anti-pollution plans to get the pollution levels at these hotspots under control. Also, PM 2.5 level is on the higher side through the year. Currently, there has been an improvement in these hotspots and we hope it gets better in the coming few days!

The fight against pollution is tough, but not impossible. Let’s contribute in whichever way we can to curb down the pollution.
