The new Delhi-Mumbai eight-lane expressway that spans a length of 1380-km that is said will pass through Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat was recently inspected by the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari who completed his 2-day aerial survey of the project. Reduction In Travel Time By 12 Hours! | This new Delhi-Mumbai eight-lane expressway is said to run through several major cities and connect Delhi to Mumbai by a 1,380-km long expressway. Nitin Gadkari recently toured the cities of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat over two days to review the progress of the project which is being built at a cost of Rs 98,000 crore and scheduled to be completed by March 2023!

It is said that not only will this corridor improve connectivity between most of the major economic hubs and cities but will also reduce travel time by 12-12.5 hours from 24 hours for certain cities. The expressway will also result in annual fuel savings of more than 320 million litres and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 850 million kg which is equivalent to the planting of 40 million trees. This project has also created employment for thousands of trained civil engineers and more than 50 lakh man-days of work!
