The Ongoing 13th Habitat Film Festival Offers A Whopping 65 Movie Screenings Till The 27th

Many times it so happens that we’re just too tired of watching all these commercial movies and look for a comfortable regional film or a parallel cinema gem to give us a break from regular joe entertainment. But then again, where do we watch such movies? Such cinematic masterpieces aren’t really screened at theatres and finding them online is a huge task! And so, bringing to you a curated lineup of glorious movies is the 13th Habitat Film Festival.

65 Movie Screenings In 10 Days | The 13th Habitat Film Festival at India Habitat Centre is your saviour! This awesome film fest gives you the best of Indian cinema - all regional movies and parallel cinema movies that you definitely must see. And of course, they have their collection of the best Bollywood movies too, from the last 12 months. This year, there will be a total of 65 movies that’ll be screened over 10 days. 

Thanks to this platform, Malyali movies are no longer limited to a Keralite audience, or a Bengali movie to a Bengali audience. So this place becomes a cultural melting pot, where the idea is to appreciate movies, irrespective of their language. 

The regional movies will come with subtitles and post the screening, there’ll be a one-on-one interview session with the director of the film. So this time, look forward to some hidden stars of Indian cinema, like Aparna Sen, director of ‘Sonata’, K. Shahina, director of the Malayalam film ‘8K Intercuts: Life And Films Of K.G. George’ and many more! There will also be a screening of the movie ‘October’ which was recently released in April. 

So look forward to some National Award winning movies like Village Rockstars by Assamese director Reema Das, a Malayalam thriller like S Durga and a tribute to the late actress Sridevi. Sounds like a great way to spend our weekends, don’t you think?
