The Once-Deserted Janpath Subway Will Soon Become A Pretty Art Gallery Thanks To NDMC!

Walking through subways can get pretty boring, what with mundane walls and long corridors. Perhaps the NDMC understood this perfectly and hence, they’re all set to completely revamp the Janpath subway. Read on for deets! 

An Art Gallery At Janpath Subway?! | Remember the boring subway at Janpath? Well, it won’t be dull and drab anymore, because the NDMC is all set to transform it into an art gallery! An art exhibition was recently held at the subway, which basically turned the place into a colourful and happening space. It’s almost as if a fairy godmother sprinkled some magic on the subway! 

At the art exhibition, held under the banner ‘Triumph of Masterworks: Our National Pride’, the chairman of the NDMC announced that they will dedicate this subway to showcase artwork of all budding and talented artists. The art exhibition saw about 42 contemporary artists and students taking part, and the idea behind the exhibition was to promote art and culture in the city, and pull people out of their regular joe lives, even if for just one day. 

The exhibition boasted of 150 paintings, sculptures, photography stills and art pieces made using waste items, and the subway shall soon become a great space for both amateur and professional artists to spotlight their work at. 

So basically, this initiative kills two birds with one stone. Not only does it help promote artistic talent, but will also ensure that the subway is well-maintained. Awesome! We really admire this initiative by the NDMC and can’t wait to hop over to the gallery as soon as it opens!
